Charles R. Hedges

Charles Hedges passed away and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 14, 2026.
Born on January 24, 1946 he was the son of the late Vernon and Audrey Hedges. On October 4, 1969 he married Betty Brown and she passed away on October 1, 2017. They are now reunited in Heaven in the presence of Jesus.
In 2004 Charles accepted Jesus as his Savior and became a born again Christian. The same time as his wife Betty and son, Eric, also did.
Charles worked for ITT and later many different communication companies alongside his son Eric as they worked together for many year and later did construction work until his retirement.
Charles always made people laugh; always putting others needs before his own. He loved the Beach Boys and Elvis music. He also enjoyed his Dallas Cowboys. He loved to be sociable with others and always liked to talk about old times and watching Pastor Charles Stanley on TV. He loved model trains, he collected many over the years and back in the day loved his cigars.
He was a member of Miracle Meetings Church in Galion for many years.
Charles is survived by his children Eric (Jennifer) Hedges and Lisa Ginter, both of Galion. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren Carson Hedges, Andrew Hedges, Breanna Harmon, Alexis (Avery) Ball, Ashley Manley, Mitchell Fry, Mason Fry, and Matthew Fry. Ten great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter. Sisters in-law Kay Hedges of Bucyrus, Julie Hedges of Kingsport Tennessee, Shirley (Roger) Fissell of Galion, and Brother in-law Steve (Karen) Brown of Nebraska, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and wife Betty he is preceded in death by brothers William (Bill) Hedges, Ronald Hedges, and Roger Hedges. Brothers in-law Casto Brown and Bobby Brown. Sisters in-law Novella Hobson and Susie Chapman.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm January 19, 2026 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833.
