Donna Hay Obituary

Hay Donna L. (Long) Hay, age 80, of West Jefferson, Ohio, passed away at home with her family by her side on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. Donna was born to Charles and Edna (Crum) Long on February 15, 1936 and has been a life long resident of West Jefferson and surrounding areas. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend. Donna was an active member of the United Methodist Church of W.J. She was always willing to help with the church and a huge supporter of the Madison County MRDD. She was always thinking of others, never missing a birthday, holiday or get well wish for family and friends and there wasn't a charity she could say no to. Donna had the distinguished honor of being presented with Mother of the Year Award by the late Governor James Rhodes. Donna was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Edna Long, brother Charles Long, Jr., daughter Janine Hay Coldren, son Randy Hay. and son-in-law Richard Kiess. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Gary L. Hay; daughters, Annette (Hay) Kiess, Julianne Hay and Sharla; grandchildren, Megan Miller (Mike), Kenneth Kiess (Niki) and Andrew Kiess; and great-grandchildren, Leah and Sara Miller and Kylee and Andie Kiess. There will be a viewing Sunday, January 22 at RADER MCDONALD TIDD FUNERAL HOME in West Jefferson from 4-6 p.m. The funeral will take place at the United Methodist Church of W.J. on Monday, January 23 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be sent to a charity of your choice.

GARY, JULIE, AND ANNETTE AND FAMILY I Am so sorry for your loss. DONNA was a precious ,beatuiful ,caring sweetheart, of a wife, mom, aunt,, grandmother and friend. In a bittersweet moment another angle has got her wings and set flight into the arms of God her wings were ready but all your hearts were not. Those we love dont go away they walk beside us everyday.
