I just learned of Edie´s passing and wish to extend my sincerest condolences to her family. I was Edie´s college roommate and, though we fell out of touch, I always remembered her as one of the sweetest and kindest people I have known. Wishing you peace, Nancy Bannon (New York)

I still think of Edie even after all this time - and without these reminders. She really was a bright light and those of us who knew her will always remember her. My thoughts are with all the family.

I still think of Edie sometimes. It´s amazing that someone can have that special effect on you even with just several conversations. She was that kind of person. I shall never forget her. Kind thoughts for all the family.

I just found out about Edie passing. I'm shocked and very sad. She was so friendly and outgoing, I just loved her right away. I tried to keep in touch over the years but time passed without recent contact. That makes me even sadder now. I offer my sincere, though late, condolences to all her family.

So sorry to hear this. When I first got to know Edie, she'd stop me in school to make an insightful and thoughtful comment about something she'd read in the CTA newsletter. She was always so supportive of me in my position when I became Principal. Always the overprotective mother, she would call me in the winter to tell me she thought it was too cold for Josh to be outside. When I would try to assure her that Josh was okay and heartier than she realized, she would acknowledge that I might be right, but she didn't want him to be cold. We disagreed about these sorts of things, but it was always with a sense of humor and mutual respect. I know that she adored her boys and appreciated her friends. May she be remembered for a blessing.
