Etheyl May Behmer, age 96, of Pataskala , OH passed away September 7, 2018. She was born May 7, 1922 in Vinton, OH to the late Charles and Elizabeth Schaffner. Etheyl was an avid seamstress, fisherman, grandma and hunter. She enjoyed watching birds, especially cardinals and hummingbirds. Etheyl was a proud "Rosie the Riveter" member during WWII. She was an avid Buckeyes and Indians fan. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Bill" Behmer; granddaughter, Jonna Henry; twin sister, Evelyn Murphy and six siblings; niece, Sharon Gnandt; nephew, David Waite. Survivors include her daughter, Beverly (Jack) Henry, grandson, Sean (Kimberly) Henry; great-grandchildren, Christopher Henry and Alyse Henry; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Family and friends may visit 10-12:00pm on Wednesday, September 12, at DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Rd. N. Pickerington, OH 43147 with a funeral service to follow at 12:00pm. Interment at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Fairhope Hospice. Online condolences may be found at www.spencefuneralhome.com.
