Sutton Sr. Floyd Rufus Sutton, Sr., age 89, fell to sleep peacefully on Monday, November 10, 2014. He proudly served the U.S. Army, Terre Haute Depot, City of Columbus, and U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1981. As a master carpenter worked with local retailer's Durants and Schottensteins repairing/refinishing furniture. A member of VFW Local 3764 and Just Us Jazz Club until his illness. Preceded in death by parents David and Ardella, wife Juanita, son Floyd Jr. (Lillie), brothers Elmer, Joseph, Quincy and Chester, sisters Mae Oma, Dorothy, Katherine and Mattie. Survived by children, David (Patricia), Rudolph (Sylvia) Sutton, Kathryn (Joseph) Harper, Vicky (Tyrone) Walters, Debra (Brock) Edmondson, Tonja (Douglas) Edwards; brother, Sylvester (Barbara); brother-in-law, Arthur Broomfield. Funeral Service 12Noon Friday, November 21, 2014 at New Birth Christian Ministries, 3475 Refugee Road, where the family will receive friends at 11 a.m. until time of service.
