Ann Stroud Sutton of Greensboro, N.C., formerly of Kinston, N.C., passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Bright and May Stroud of Kinston and sister of the late Ivey Stroud.

Ann was born on April 6, 1937, in Kinston, N.C., to Bright and May Stroud. A lifelong resident of Kinston before later moving to Greensboro, she will be dearly missed by a wide circle of family and friends. She attended Grainger High School, Campbell College, and East Carolina University. For many years, Ann served as an elementary school teacher in Snow Hill, N.C., where she was a dedicated educator who made a lasting impact on her students. She had a passion for reading and was devoted to her many relatives in the large William Stroud family of Lenoir County, N.C.

She is survived by her close cousin, Joe Karns and wife, Clarinda, of Greensboro and the many descendants

of the Stroud family.

In accordance with Ann's wishes, there will be no public service. She will be interred at the family plot at Westview Cemetery, in Kinston, N.C.
