Today is 8-7-17 I am in Akron ohio I have found the green balloon from Mr.Eric Sloan in memory of his grandson. My heart goes out to you and your family and you are in our prayers. The balloon was outside of my work today on my 10 minute break and just wanted to let you know that there are people that care and are praying for you. God bless you all! Bill and Beth.

My condolences for the loss of you friend, brother and family member

I did not know Eric. My family was vacationing on Fripp Island just a few doors down from the where the boys where staying. I would like to let Eric's family know that he was not alone that day. As soon as we realized what had happened I prayed for God to take control of that very tragic situation. Shortly after that a rainbow appeared in the sky. Not a large rainbow, but just big enough to let me know that God was present. Early the next morning as the search and rescue team came to resume the search there was another small rainbow in the sky. I told my girls, that was a sign from God that something good was going to happen that day. Latter that afternoon it was very obvious when Eric's body was recovered because the search and rescue boats all sped off at the same time. We then looked to the sky only to see the most beautiful sight. I have never seen anything like it. There was a rainbow that made a complete circle around the sun. At that time I knew that Eric had found his way to heaven.
At this most difficult time I want to let all of Eric's family, friend and teammates know that they are in our thoughts and prayers. I am going to try and upload that picture I took of the rainbow around the sun for you to see. I hope it works. God Bless
