Fred Osso Obituary

OSSO Fred Osso, age 82, of Columbus, OH formerly of Yorkville, OH, died Saturday, April 23, 2005 at We Care Nursing Home, Columbus, OH. Born April 22, 1923 in Yorkville, a son of the late Nick and Innocenza (Pate) Osso. Member of VFW Post 4811, Yorkville, OH. Member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Tiltonsville, OH. Yorkville Graduate of 1941. He was a US Army WWII Veteran of the China Burma India Theater and received the American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with a Bronze Star and the WWII Vicotry Medal. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers Jack and Sandy Osso. Surviving are 2 brothers, Settimio (Annie) Osso of Louisville, CO and Joseph (Eliane) Osso of Yorkville; 5 sisters, Carmelia Gorman of Columbus, Jennie (George) Kyre of Yorkville, Divine Smith of St. Clairsville, OH, Vera Osso of Washington, D.C., and Mary Moreland of Farmington, MI; 11 nieces and nephews; 9 great nieces and nephews; 6 great-great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at The BORKOSKI FUNERAL HOME, 337 Jefferson St., Tiltonsville, OH 43963, where service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday with Msgr. George Coyne officiating. Burial Upland Cemetery, Yorkville. A vigil service will be held 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home. A full military service will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by the Belmont County Council of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
