1937 - 2021
Fred Street, 83, of Columbus, passed away January 20, 2021. Fred was born June 17, 1937 in Grundy, VA to the late John and Nora (Street) Street. He was a standard bred horse owner, trainer and driver for 30 years. Fred was a business owner. He built the first energy efficient home in Ohio. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, and playing cards for fun. Fred will be deeply missed by his wife, Cheryl of 27 years; children, Pamela and Pattie Street; grandchildren, Katey, Kari; step-grandchildren, Deanna, Kelly, Dalton; sisters, Jearldine Vance, Shirley Mae (Sam) Berardi, Phyllis Jean Miller, Barbara Sue (Bill) Campbell; along with many other family and friends. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Ed, Arnold and Thurman Street, sisters Carma Lee Street and Betty Russell. Visitation will be Thursday, January 28, 2021, from 5-7pm at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus. Funeral services will be Friday, January 29, 2021 at 12:30pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. I had the honor to know Fred for close to 30 years. I cut his hair every 4 weeks like clockwork. He was a sweet spirit and loved his wife deeply. I will miss him coming into the salon in his poker hat and putting it on after I styled him beautifully always made me laugh.
