He had amazing talent! It was the first time we had a real music teacher. He was polite and taught us to respect each other.

Mr. Brown is a teacher I will never forget. I had him as my 6th grade teacher at Stickney Elementary School his first year of teaching as I remember. I was truly amazed at his playing of the piano. As I am now retired and 67 years old and reflecting on my life and remembering people of my past he is one person who stands out in my memory.

My deepest sympathy to the family. I remember Mr.Brown as truly a high spirited individual. He was always there to help for any event. I grew up in Warren and was excited to hear him play the piano on Sunday mornings. He will be truly missed.

As a child raised at Warren AME Church, I will never forget Mr. Brown's spirited rendition of "May God be With You" at the conclusion of church services and events. He made the spirit of that song come alive and he breathed life into those word through his singing and playing - making congregants truly feel the meaning and significance of the song, as opposed to a habitual ritual. God Bless Mr. Brown - he will truly be missed.

Mr. Brown will always remain an important part of my life. I was a student of his at Stickney School back in 1972. I still have a letter that he wrote me during the summer of 1973 framed and hanging on my wall to remind me of his words, "I hope you continue to allow Christ to play a part in your life". He certainly is one of those teachers that you will never, ever forget. From embarrassing the boys who were whispering to the girls, to his beautiful piano playing at the assemblies. I'm so glad to have had play a part in your life. You were truly a blessing to us. My prayers to his family.

Mr Brown was a great person. I remember back in Grade school (Stickney) he was the most decicated individual.I remember Mr Brown always going out of way in helping myself and others. I know he was a great sports fan and was instrumental in pointing me in the right direction. May god bless the family of this great man.

To the Brown family,

My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you. I know you don't know me but my name is Larry Hurst, Mr. Brown was my favorite teacher by far, He was my 6th grade teacher at Stickney School in 1970. Mr Brown was my assistant basketball coach he would pick me up from my house for the games and take me home afterwards. He taught me more than Spelling, he taught me about life. He was one of the kindest and most intelligent men I have ever known. I will never forget him and I will miss him so much. He also visited my church Old Fashion Missionary Baptist church and graced us with his beautiful voice by singing a couple of hymns. I'm proud to have known him and I hope your family can take comfort in the fact that God has called another angel home. Your family will be in my prayers.

To the Brown family,

My sincerest sympathy goes out to your family, I know you probably don't know me but Mr. Brown was without a doubt my favorite teacher. He was my 6th grade teacher at Stickney School in 1970 he taught spelling and grammar and he was also my assistant basketball coach and because my father coudn't take me to the games Mr. Brown volunteered to pick me up and take me home. He also came to my church and used his angelic voice and sang a couple of hymns. He was a very special man and I will miss him very much but I know God called another angel home. Your family will be in my prayers, May Gods peace be with you all.

Our hearts are saddened with the lost of our friend, Fred Brown. Fred was the husband of my dear friend the late Lillie Brown. Now they are together again in God's kingdom.
