Frederick Molter Obituary

MOLTER Frederick Leslie Molter, 89, Columbus, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, September 23, 2012. Fred was born in Ironton, OH on August 15, 1923, to Edward and Marguerite Molter and is preceded in death by his parents, sister Clara Prahl, brothers Ken, Ed (twin) and Clay "Emo" Molter. Fred attended Mifflin High School, worked 11 years for Commercial Motor Freight and retired from Columbus Board of Education after 32 years. He served during WW II in the European Campaign as a T/5, member of VFW/AmVets 89, Masonic Lodge 563, Moose Lodge 1427 and Eagles 2252. Fred is survived by his wife of 65 years, Phyllis (Whited) Molter; daughter, Phyllis L. Timson; sons, Frederick W. and Tracy L. (LuAnn) Molter; granddaughter, Alicia (John) Grossman; grandsons, Jamie Timson, Josh, Andrew, Jeremy and Austin Molter; great-grandchildren, Shane Molter and Allie Timson; sisters, Mildred (Jack) Ware and Mary Molter; brother, Bob Molter; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was also a member of the McDonalds Breakfast Club. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2012, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH. In addition, Visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2012, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Columbus, OH. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. Messages of condolence may be left at www.NewcomerColumbus.com.

So sorry to hear about Fred. He was a good friend and co-worker to my dad Charles Frazee. I remember he and Ed as a young girl while living in Columbus. With much sympathy.

Tracy, Sue and I are really sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. He always made her day when he called her smiley, especially when she worked at Home Depot. I alway enjoyed his visits to 91's and fondly remember the days we painted with him on that pic. Smitty
