Douglas Allen Molter, 64, of Phelps, WI, passed away peacefully at his new home in Rhinelander, WI on December 10, 2025. He was born on September 30, 1961 in Sheboygan, WI to Phyllis (LeFever) and Peter Molter. Doug grew up in West Bend and graduated from West Bend West High School in 1980. He participated in many sports, most notably baseball and golf. Doug earned his certified nursing assistant certificate later in life.
Doug is survived by his three children: Peter Molter, Amanda (Adam) Phillippi and Matthew Molter, grandchildren Lily and Nico Phillippi, sisters Mary Kehoe and Jill (Dave) Powell, former wife Carol (Kohls) Molter, Godmother Joan Knorr, Godfather Terry LeFever, Godson Nathan Kehoe and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Phyllis Molter, brother-in-law's James Kehoe, Rodney Kohls and Ronald Keller, father and mother-in-law Keith and MaryAnn Kohls, nephew Phillip Keller, grandparents and other loving relatives.
Doug was an avid outdoorsman which included hunting and fishing regularly. He was a sports enthusiast and loved cheering for his favorite teams: Packers, Bucks, Brewers, and Badgers. He also coached little league baseball for several years. Doug spent much of his life working in the landscaping and restaurant industry most notably operating the family's business, Twin Haven Resort in Conover, WI. Doug also worked for Kehoe Enterprizes' restaurants for many years. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, pranks, "pyrotechnics", kindness, generosity and love of family. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren and will continue watching over them.
A funeral mass will be at 12 noon on Monday December 29, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Phelps, WI. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service. Interment will be in Phelps Cemetery in the Spring.
