HOOD Gail "Nikki" Nicole Hood was born to Helena Hood and Freddrick Ford on October 9, 1990 at OSU. She passed away unexpectedly on November 12, 2009. Nikki was a student at Whetstone High School. She was a very happy, outgoing, loud, funny, sweet and compassionate person. Nikki is preceded in death by her great-grandparents Helen A. Freeman, Bernice Hood and grandfather (Dad) Franklin David Hood Sr., uncle Reggie Hood. Nikki leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, Helena; brothers, Freddie, Michael, Damian; grandmother (Mom), Gale; aunts, Frankie (Jay), Tiffani; uncle, Franklin Jr.; host of many more aunts and uncles; her cousins, Franklin III, Alanta, Jamie, Markquin, Racheal; nieces, My-My and Ni-Ni; and many more cousins. DEAR FRIEND OF MINE I AM SORRY THAT I NEVER HAD A VHANCE TO SAY GOOD-BYE,
AND NOW ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT IS WHY DID YOU HAVE TOO DIE?
THIS SCENE KEEPS PLAYING ROUND OVER IN MY HEAD, AND ALL THAT I CAN THINK ABOUT ARE THOSE LAST FEW WORDS YOU SAID. I SWORE I WOULDNT CRY, WOULDNT SHOW A SIGN THAT I WAS WEAK, SO WHY WHEN I LOOK IN THE MIRROR I CAN SEE SIGNS OF DEFEAT? DO YOU KNOW WHAT I KEEP THINKING? BEFORE YOU PASSED WHAT WERE YOUR LAST THOUGHTS?

I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT GAIL... I KNEW GAIL BECAUSE WE WENT TO THE SAME SCHOOL BARRETT MIDDLE SCHOOL WE WERE IN ALL OF THE SAME CLASSES.. WE BECAME CLOSE... SHE USE TO LIKE MY BROTHER... SHE WAS A VERY SWEET GIRL.... AFTER MIDDLE SCHOOL A FEW YEARS HAD PASSED BY AND I HADNT HEARD FROM HER. THATS WHEN I BUMPED INTO HER DOWNTOWN WE TALKED EVERY CHANCE THAT WE COULD... THE LAST THIME THAT I SAW HER WAS ON THE BUS IN THE MORNING GOING TO SCHOOL SHE WAS ASKING ME ABOUT THE SCHOOL THAT I WENT TO... SHE SAID THAT SHE WANTED TO GOT THERE..... WEEKS HAD PASSED BY AND I WAS ON THE BUS WITH SOME FRIENDS AND I ASKED THEM HAD THEY HEARD FROM GAIL AND THAT IS HOW I FOUND OUT.... I MISS GAIL ALOT IM SURE ALOT OF PPL DO... SHE WAS A VERY GOOD PERSON ALWAYS TELLING ME TO KEEP MY HEAD UP HIGH. AND AS I DO THAT NOW I LOOK UP INTO THE SKY AND WONDER WHAT SHE IS DOING NOW.... I am saddened and in shock over the passing of Gail. I knew Gail from Beck Urban Academy, a school I worked at years ago. I had not seen Gail for several years, and recently ran into her downtown. It was such a pleasure talking with her, and I was so impressed with how Gail was striving to do and be all she could be. Her smile was radiant! May God continue to strengthen, love, and heal the family during this time of bereavment. Heaven has recieved another angel!

Gail was one of my students at Barrett Middle School. She could always make me laugh. It is always so sad to hear about one of your students losing their life at such a young age. She will be deeply missed. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I met Gail at Whetstone and was so impressed with how hard she was working to polish herself for the professional world after high school. We talked about her hopes of working in a nice office and practiced interviewing skills. She was so delightful and full of spunk. While I only had the pleasure of knowing Gail for a brief school year, I will miss her spirit for a long time to come. Bless you, Miss Hood.

I had Gail as a student in the 7th and 8th grade. I was so shocked to hear of her passing and was saddened by the loss of a wonderful young woman. Gail could always make the class smile and had a spirit I will truly miss!! Her family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
