To the family of Garold "Chop" Cheatham: I met Chop (and Meko) when we were in the 7th grade. He was a quite soul, yet his smile would draw you in. After school we lost track and it would be years before I would run into him again. However, a few years ago I had the great pleasure of an unexpected reunion w/him at a local gas station. We reminisced of our days at Linmoor and talked about our future. I noted then that Chop was that same gentle giant of a man. May the wonderful memories you have along with the love you shared comfort and keep you. And may you be reminded during this time to make sure that your name will be found in the Lambs Book of Life by following the instructions in Romans 10:9&10
Continued blessings......

I would like to extend condolences to the entire Cheatham family. I had the great pleasure of sharing some great times with Garold “Chop” before my conversion to Christ. I am sure, Cecil, Stormy, Nat…the rest will agree. We all will miss Chop and will hold on to the legacy of his caring spirit. It is always disturbing to hear of a friend’s departure from this earth, but we were only here for one purpose. My Bible says something about, “after death then the judgment.” Therefore, I ask myself, “Are you ready to meet the Lord and then will the life you lived be in vain?” Chop is sleeping now and will someday awaken without the pain of any illness/hurt this world knows. Therefore, know we all have a price to pay and should not allow Chop’s departure or Christ crucifixion be in vain. Know that I love you all enough to say, “through all the pain you now feel get something out of it, seek Christ for refuge and prepare yourself for the call of salvation.” Grace and Peace

Remember

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.
