My relationship with Guy began in 1971 when, as a high school junior, I drove an hour from my home in Buckhannon, WV to Salem College twice a month to study percussion with him. In 1985 our paths crossed again as I studied privately with Guy for several months prior to becoming one of his graduate teaching associates while pursuing my MM in Percussion Performance at OU. Guy was a phenomenal teacher and a great inspiration to me. He challenged me, taught me more about musicianship than anyone, and genuinely wanted me to succeed professionally. More importantly, he was a wonderful human being and a personal friend who cared as much or more about my well-being and that of my family. God bless you, Guy, for being such a great role model and for touching as many lives as you did. We are all better off for your having graciously shared your wisdom and part of your life with us. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Remonko family.

I had Mr. Remonko in the late 1980's for percussion class. He was a great teacher and roll model for young college students. I loved his class and will have fond memories of him forever.

What a fantastic musician, superb teacher and extraordinary person! I was so privileged to be a student at Ohio U. when he taught there. My brother Tom Scott loved his lessons with Mr. Remonko. Guy will be very missed in the music world and in our hearts.
