Helene D. Steele

STEELE Helene D. Steele, age 86, passed away peacefully April 17, 2008, at the Lutheran Village Courtyard Nursing Home in Columbus, Ohio. Helene was a past worthy matron and a 50 year member of the OES Neal Temple Chapter #522 district 18 and member of the Beacon Chapter OES #593; long time member of the Central United Methodist Church. Helene was also an avid seamstress and loved to dance. She received a business degree during the depression which helped her obtain a position with WPAFB as a secretary for over 20 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, of 55 years, Harry Steele. Helene is survived by her daughters, Kathie (Walter) Pierce of Columbus and Patty (Doug) Steele-Scott of Dayton; grandchildren, Douglas (Irene) Pierce of DE., Sarah Pierce, and Bella (Corey) Rehberg, all of NY., Michael Pierce of CA.; three great-grandchildren; brother, Roland Martin of Medina, OH.; nieces and nephew. Family to receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2008, at the JACKSON LYTLE WILLLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, 2425 N. Limestone St., Springfield, where funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2008. Rev. Dr. Julie Crimean officiating. Entombment will follow in the Rose Hill Burial Park.
