Isabel Gallin Betts

BETTS Isabel Gallin (Flautt) Betts, 83, of Columbus, passed away at 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. Isabel was born February 12, 1928 in Somerset, Ohio, the daughter of the late William J. and Florence Gallin Flautt. She was a graduate of St. Marys of the Spring, now known as Ohio Dominican, with a degree in nutrition. She retired from the City of Reynoldsburg. Isabel was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her sons, John (Dawn) Betts and Donald (Helen) Betts; her daughters, Mary (Gary) Blanks, Patricia (Brent) Tufts and Karen (Matthew) Allen; grandchildren, Steven Betts, Jackie (Joshua) Schultz, Sara Grutsch, Matthew Hunt, Jacob Allen, Samuel Allen and Dustin Tufts; great-grand-children, Brekken, Bridger and Sierra Schultz, and Isabella Hunt; and a sister, Catherine Nuck. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Omer John "Jack" Betts, three brothers George, Thomas and Robert Flautt and a sister Sara Bever. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2012 at the BOPE-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME in Somerset, where Rosary will be recited at 7:45 p.m. Friday evening. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Stephen Carmody as celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.
