Jack Van Dine Obituary

Van Dine Jack Andrew Van Dine Jr., 61, finished the race strong on December 9, 2016, and then took his rest in the arms of Jesus Christ. He was born November 11, 1955, to Mary Louise Chapman and Jack Van Dine Sr., both now deceased. He is survived by his wife, Holly Harman Fackler, whom he loved fiercely and without condition; five children, Jacob Van Dine (Ronnie Lynn Fout) and Nikki Van Dine of Columbus, Elizabeth Fackler (Larry Spangler) of Baltimore, Eliot Fackler (Jennifer Stockdale) of Chicago and Evan Fackler (Rebecca Tolmach) of Seattle; grandsons, Tyler, Devin and Dillon Van Dine of Columbus; five stepgrandchildren; brother, Bryan (Theresa) Van Dine of Obetz; ex-wife, Mary Van Dine of Columbus; parents-in-law, Worth and Dorothy Harman of Baltimore; a large extended stepfamily who will sorely miss him; three sisters; and many nephews and nieces. Jack worked most of his life in labor and management jobs, retiring from T. Marzetti after 28 years. He was avidly and productively involved in youth sports and coached girls basketball for many years. He traveled light, knew his neighbors, saw the little things, invested himself in people, spent every ounce of effort he had, and left the world a bit better. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 17 at Christ United Methodist Church, 700 S. Main St., Baltimore, where his family will receive friends starting at 10 a.m. A reception/meal will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Baltimore Food Pantry or to a charity serving needs of children.

It's so sad that you are gone Uncle Jack! But I know without a doubt that you are in heaven in your mothers arms again. I'll never forget all the family cookouts at the lake or parties at your house, and most definitely never forget that laugh of yours, it was one of a kind. I will always love you and never forget you. May you rest in peace. Love RoseBud
