Jane Chabria Obituary

CHABRIA (WOLFE) Jane Wolfe Chabria, 64, passed away in her home after a struggle with cancer. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. June 4, 2005 at 299 King Ave. Methodist Church. All are welcome to attend. No flowers. Jane Wolfe founded The Early Learning Center, Montessori School, a nonprofit school for kindergarten aged children, where she taught for more than 30 years. She was born in Columbus White Cross Hospital on July 17, 1940. Jane attended The Ohio State University, where she earned a BA, teaching degree and went on to attend Santa Monica University in Los Angeles where she studied Montessori teaching methods. After receiving her degree, she moved to New York City, and taught at New York Founding Hospital. She married John Chabria on July 3, 1964 and the two returned to Columbus in 1965. Jane Wolfe was the vice president of the Kemmler Foundation, a charitable foundation which gave grants to thousands of children and college students, as well as aiding senior citizens. She continued in this role until her death. Jane Wolfe leaves behind a legacy of compassion and caring. Her generosity extended past her many charitable activities and donations, as most importantly she gave freely of her love and kindness. Jane never hesitated to help anyone in need, whether that person was a dear friend or a stranger in need of help. By her example, Jane taught all who came in contact with her that kindness is its own reward. Jane leaves behind two baby lambs, Renee and Anita; and 177 family members and friends. Somedays I come home and go to pick up the phone to call Jane to tell her about something that happened that day. She had a great sense of humor, and we found alot of the same things hilarious. I knew her in a past life, then this one, and I will see her again in the next. Forever my friend...
