Jerry - It still doesn't seem real that we had to say goodbye to you today and I'm not sure how we're all going to get along without you. I will be forever grateful for all you've done for me over the years both personally and professionally. I will miss your laugh, your calls to talk about our beloved Buckeyes and dinners at Wendell's, among other things. You were truly one of a kind and I only hope I can have half the impact on this world that you did. You will be missed but never forgotten.

I met Jerry a few years ago when I worked at ADS. I must say I was somewhat fearful during that first interaction. I came to realize that he was one of the greatest humanitarians that I have ever met. He lifted me up during some very tough times and encouraged me. I will never forget our talks when he drove me over to the Reno office. He shaved his head in a meeting in Reno to raise money for United Way.
He demonstrated care and such concern for all people. We need more people like Jerry to make this world a better place. God loved him best and called him home to rest. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Words can not simply express how much Jerry will truly be missed. Jerry always was a true mentor, a caring individual and a genuine boss. He has motivated me to excel in my career development in many ways. I am simply a "better" person today for having the opportunity to work with him. My prayers are with all of his family and friends at this time of loss.

To the Family of Jerry Thomas, I am so sorry for your loss...what a shock. As you know Jerry was so kind hearted and would do anything for you if he could. Jerry was there for me during a really tough time in my life and he helped me so much. I will never forget how he sat anxiously awaiting the birth of my son as he sat with the gray Buckeye teddy bear making sure we were both ok. He was the only person that I could really talk to during that rough time. He always had encouraging words and made sure I would smile before ending a conversation. While reading everyone's kind words about Jerry makes me think of tons of fun memories. What a man he was and I know that he is in God's hands now. Bless you Jerry and thank you for being in my life...I am a better person because of it!

I began working for Jerry right out of High School back in 1997. He gave me my first 'real' job and gave me a great start which has led me to where I am today. He was a natural leader and always offered wonderful constructive critizism and awesome advise! Jerry's work ethic helped me mold my own. I was fortunate enough to vacation with him and his family years ago. These trips were the most fun and the Outer Banks will never seem the same with out him.

I was very saddened to hear of Jerry's passing ... he was much too young!
During my 5 years at LCS/ADS I knew Jerry first as a boss, then as a friend. He always knew how to put a smile on everyone's face. Would stand up for you when needed. A very positive influence. Although I haven't seen him in years, I have never forgotten him.
May the knowledge that he has touched so many comfort his family at this time.

I have learned so much from Jerry over the years about leadership and friendship. He was the most intelligent, funny, caring person I have ever known. Alliance Data will not be the same without him, the collection department will not be the same, I will not be the same. He has touched so many lives in more ways than we can count. He would give someone the shirt off his back if it was the last thing he had to give. He was passionate about his family, his friends, and his work. This world is a better place because Jerry was in it and I am so honored to have known him.

We were saddened to hear of Jerry's sudden passing. What a small world it is. Jerry was in the Navy with my brother Rick who also sadly passed away suddenly at the age of 37. Shortly after that we realized that my husband, Randy West ,was working with Jerry at Limited Credit Services. When i saw Jerry again he was so kind, comforting, and often asked about our family. He told us stories about my brother. Everytime i saw him i was embraced with a big hug and his contagious laugh and smile. I remember him at our wedding doing the chicken dance!. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jerry's family at this difficult time but we know he is with so many that left before him and love him dearly. God Bless you

We are so sorry of hearing of Jerry's passing. Jerry was more then a manger to most of his employees, he was a friend,he was always concerned about all of us and our families, always had something positive to say to help us through our work day or personal things that was happening in our life. He had a great respect for people. He surely will be missed by all, but we know that he is in a better place with our Lord beside him.

To all of Jerry's Family: My family and I would like you to know you have your deepest sympathys and our prayers for your loss. I worked for Jerry for several years. He had a light hearted spirit. He was a joy to work for. You always new what to expect with Jerry and knew where you stood with him. I would have to say he was probably the most trusted and honest man I have ever worked for. He cared about his employees as much as they cared about him.

To Charlotte, Bobby and Tancy, John, Lynn Josh and Jared,
I am so very sorry for your loss.
I was with Jerry the day we followed the drunk driver down 161 and 37 from Newark towards Columbus. That story is so very true. He was a very special part of mine and my childrens lives. We loved him more than can be described. It was so hard to tell my granddaughter Camille that her "Pawpaw" Jerry had gone to live with the angels. We had just spoken by phone a few days prior to his passing. Although I am saddened by his death, I am happy for him that he is in a better place now. With all my heart and soul, I will truly miss you Jerry. My family is grieving as if a member of our own is gone.

I was very sad to hear of Jerry's passing, He was a very important part of my employment at Alliance Data and also a friend. Jerry was a leader at the company for as long as I knew him but it is very rare to be able to say,
"he is my director, and he is also my friend". I will truly miss all that Jerry stood for. He was never afraid to say what he was thinking, and was never slow to recognize the good in a person. He would always offer advice when you asked for it,encouragement when you needed it, and help to anyone that was in need. I as well as many others with Alliance will miss him greatly along with his thoughts on life and his own individual work ethic which was very contagious. And how can anything be said or remembered about Jerry without something, at least one story being funny...I will always remember his stories of how he would help the police capture DUI offenders. He told one story of noticing a woman who had quite a few erratic driving moves, he suspected alcohol was involved and decided to follow her while calling 911. He proceeded to give the dispatcher a clear location, and was determined to make sure the driver was stopped when the dispatcher inquired as to what his speed was, he said she told him he could back off a little and that the police were right ahead waiting for the suspect. Recalling the way Jerry described every detail of the chase made it sound like a scene from a comedy. Even during that event in his life, he wanted good to prevail. I often think of that story and wonder how many lives he may have saved that day by putting his own at risk. Jerry was a good man and my thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time of great loss. He was truly a great friend to many. He will be sadly missed but remembered forever.

Jerry was my cousin and we were born 5 days apart. Although we did not see each other much, we seem to be close to each other especially in the latter part of our lives. I will miss Jerry because he was like a brother in some sense and because he loved to share with me the things he cared for. Love you & miss you! Phil Harden Jr.
