John Chappelear Obituary

CHAPPELEAR John R. "Bob" Chappelear, age 89, passed away April 9, 2007, at his residence. Retired from the Board of Education. Retired U.S. Army with over 20 years. Veteran of WW II and the Korean War. Member of the retired Officers Association; VFW Chapter 3, Disabled Veterans; former member of American Legion #144; Westgate Masonic Lodge F&AM, Scotish Rite and the Aladdin Shrine. Member of Good Shepherd Community Church. He was preceded in death by his parents John W. and Caroline Leake Chappelear and 9 brothers and sisters. Survived by his wife of 65 years, Bessie of the residence, Son, Robert (Wendy) Chappelear of Burnsville, MN; grandsons, Adam T., Zachery T., Mathew T.; granddaughter, Dr. Meghan Moore-Becker; nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the O. R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 S. High St., Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where funeral service will be held Friday 10:30 a.m. Dr. William L. Snider officiating. Interment New Straightsville Cemetery.
