John Lauless Obituary

Lauless John Thomas Lauless (Grandpa Great), passed away on February 22, 2013, (on his 67th wedding anniversary), at age 89. Loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. World War II Veteran, 101st Calvary Division. Purple Heart and Silver Star recipient. Member of St. James the Less Church and Church of the Resurrection. Born June 1, 1923, to Edward and Mabel Lauless. John is predeceased by his parents, his parents-in-law Roy and Flossie Young, sisters, Alice Umbrazen and Betty Trajanoski. Survived by loving wife of 67 years, Donna F. (Smith) Lauless; children, Susan (Ed) Mahle, Christine (Al) Tidwell, Diana (Mark) Lewis; grandchildren, Amy (Shane) Meade, Aaron (Gloria) Schott, Christopher Sabo, Andy (Amanda) Mahle, John (Jill) Mahle, Matt (Heather) Mahle, Brian (Ashleigh) Lewis, Adam (Melanie) Lewis; great-grandchildren, Paige, Bryce, and Brooke Schott, Drew, Lauren, and Sam Mahle, Max, Ben, and Tommy (John Thomas) Mahle, and Madelyn Mahle, Sam Lewis, and baby Lewis; sisters, Ruth Foreman and Eleanor Hicks, many very special nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff on 7-Yellow at Riverside Hospital, the Hospice Team and caregivers at Riverside Hospital for their loving care. A very special thank you to Dr. Naveen Singri, Dr. Val at the VA, to Dr. Lee Davis and Dr. Brian Phipps for the many years of loving and compassionate care to our father. Family will receive friends on Monday, February 25, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. (at Beecher Rd.), Gahanna. Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 1652 Oakland Park Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43224.
