John Smyers Obituary

SMYERS John D. Smyers, age 70, of Upper Arlington, died Sunday, June 24, 2007 at his home. He retired from Crane Plastics after 32 years of service. Following retirement, he was an associate at Anderson's General Store for ten years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. John is survived by his wife of 28 years, Angela; sons, John (Debbie) Smyers and David (Nancy) Smyers; stepsons, John (Victoria) Burns and Michael (Cammy) Conlin; grandchildren, Jonathan, Tiffany and Katie Smyers, Scott, Ryan, Jason and Courtney Burns, Nakayla Conlin and Cassie Morris; great-granddaughter, Kylie; brother, Darly (Opal) Smyers; sisters, Florence Shaffer and Ruby Bush; mother-in-law, Catharine Dover; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Judson O. and Effie (Blackstone) Smyers and brother Bernell Smyers. He was a veteran U.S. Army. John was a member of St. Andrew Parish and loved to fish and golf. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12 Noon Thursday, June 28, 2007 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Road at Reed. Fr. Michael Watson, Celebrant. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
