I had the pleasure of working with Joe at Scioto Downs and at the Delaware county fair. He was a great individual, and I will miss him.

My darling Uncle Joe as I always called him was an amazing person who was in my life from the moment I was born. He worked side by side with my Dad, Matt. My first memories are of when he would babysit my brother Joe and me. If we misbehaved, he would roll up a newspaper and threaten to spank us.Through the years, he was always larger than life. At my sister Rebecca's wedding, we laughed when the photographer had to keep saying "Uncle Joe, you are blocking the bride" everytime he was taking a picture. Every family gathering my husband and I took him to always started with Uncle Joe complaining that there was way too much food. He would then eat more than anyone and take home lots of leftovers! He had one of the biggest hearts of anyone and was always the first to lend a helping hand. He was a proud veteran who loved his country. The love of his life, Ellen, was his heart and soul. Despite his sometimes gruff exterior, he had a very kind and loving heart, especially with his family and he was always the Uncle who could be counted on. He will truly be missed.
