Judith Budreau Obituary

Budreau, Judith
1942 - 2017
Judith Diane (Gellner) Budreau, 74, passed away on May 22, 2017 in North Fort Myers, FL. Judy was born October 25, 1942 in Junction City, KS to James and Olive Gellner. She graduated from Wintersville High School and then moved to Reynoldsburg, Ohio where she spent the next 35 years. During that time she met and married the love of her life, Larry Budreau, her husband of 51 years. Judy and Larry were tireless volunteers for the City of Reynoldsburg and diehard fans of the Raiders. She bled purple and gold for her boys during their years of playing sports at Reynoldsburg High School. The Budreau's were voted "Volunteers of the Year" and Marshals of the Tomato Festival Parade. Judy was inducted into the Reynoldsburg High School Hall of Fame for her outstanding commitment to the school and the community. She loved flowers and gardening and worked at Fisher's Greenhouse for several years. Judy and Larry relocated to North Fort Myers in 1997 where she continued to be a pillar of the community at Pine Lakes Country Club. Judy enjoyed working in the Pro Shop and occasionally throwing a neighborhood cul-de-sac party. Her house was always open to everyone. Judy was also an Ohio State Buckeye fan and loved wearing her scarlet and grey. The Cardinal bird had special significance in her life because to her, seeing the bird meant that the Angels were near. Her finest quality was her absolute dedication to her husband, children, daughters in law and grandchildren; her greatest joy was having her family all together. She was adored by her sister and life-long best friend Alice. Judy will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, a mother who would move mountains for her boys and a friend to everyone who crossed her path. She was enthusiastic about keeping things clean, happy and beautiful in everyone's life. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, James and Olive Gellner; sister and brother in law, Kathi and Bill Keefover; and brother in law, David Thompson. She is survived by husband Larry, sons Brian (Tracy) Budreau of Port Charlotte, FL, Bradley (Christy) Budreau of Powell, Ohio. Her adoring grandchildren, Parker, Ava, Carley and Brock. Sister, Alice (Jon) Thompson Self; many nieces and nephews and countless friends. Judy passed away peacefully after a long battle with Dementia (Alzheimer's). On Friday July 21 we will gather at Genoa Baptist Church, 7562 Lewis Center Rd, Westerville, OH 43082. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. and a Celebration of Life will begin at 3 p.m. There will be a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Judy's life. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to the Alzheimer's Foundation (www.alzfdn.org) in Judy's name.
