Rodd was married to my cousin Karen and I was very happy to know him. He was a wonderful husband and father. I remember he, Karen and the children visited my husband and I in Albuquerque several years ago while they were on vacation. We had a wonderful dinner at The Range in Bernalillo and had a wonderful evening. After dinner we were walking back to our cars and Grant was tossing gravel stones in the air, as any young boy would do, and one fell on the back window of their mini-van. The window shattered and we were all amazed. Poor Grant felt horrible and Rodd handled the whole episode wonderfully. The next day they continued on their vacation and at some point the window was repaired. I was back in the States for the holidays and was able to visit with Rodd around Christmas. I am very happy I was able to spend time with him. I always felt very comfortable with Rodd and enjoyed our conversations. I will miss him and thank G-d he was brought into my life. I won't say good bye because I don't do that, but I will say to Rodd, until later. My thoughts and prayers are with Karen and the kids and am sorry I won't be able to fly back to America for his funeral.

We remember the first time Rodd showed up at our front door with three small children on a Trick or Treat night in the early 90s. It has always been a pleasure to talk with Rodd whenever we would run into him out and about. We will miss him and his pleasant demeanor. Our sincere sympathies go out to you Karen, Angela, Grant, and Justina.
