Lillian McLaughlin Obituary
Lillian T. McLaughlin, 101, died Wednesday, July 11, 2018. Preceded in death by husband William H. McLaughlin, daughters Ann (Sr. Lillian Marie SSND) and Rita C. and Ronald Gehrisch. Survived by daughter, Evelyn (Joseph) Sabino of Columbus; sons, William (Jane) of Phoenix, AZ, James (Jill) of Stevenson Ranch, CA, and Kevin (Dianne) of Milton, MA.; grandchildren, Julie Sultan, Helen Strines, Maureen Eldridge, Ann Marie Thaler, Sean McLaughlin, Darren McLaughlin, Vincent Sabino, Kevin McLaughlin, and Kelly Opatka; 21 great grandchildren. Born in 1916 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Lillian became a U.S. Citizen in 1937 at the age of 21. She was a Master Teacher of the Japanese embroidery art, Bunka, and has received many awards for her Bunka art and for her crocheting. After moving back to Ohio from Sun City FL, she became a member of St. Michael parish where she sang in the choir. More recently she was a member of St. Peter parish in Columbus. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 17 at St. Peter Church, 6899 Smoky Row Rd., Columbus 43235. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at the church at 11 a.m. Interment Wednesday 11:30 a.m., St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria, Ohio, where the family lived for many years. The family welcomes donations to Columbus Alzheimers Care Center, 700 Jasonway Ave., Columbus, OH 43214. Arrangements by O'SHAUGHNESSY CO., CALL 614-221-2311 with questions.
