Louis Pompi Obituary
1944 - 2021
Louis "Lou" W. Pompi, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. Lou was born on February 28, 1944 in Mamoroneck, NY to the late Louis and Mary (Fengler) Pompi. Also preceding in death was his brother Mark Pompi. Lou grew up in Buffalo, NY. Lou received his undergraduate and master's degree from Buffalo University and his PHD from Michigan State University. He worked as an economist for 15 years with a Public Utility Company. Lou loved to ride his motorcycle. Lou will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Betsy (Miller) Pompi; sons, David (Tonya) Pompi and Daniel (Renee) Pompi; grandchildren, Inara, Aiden, Bennett, Susanne, and Sophia; brother, Richard Pompi; sisters, Sandi (Brown) Miller and Mary Lou (Marlon) Lucas; and 3 nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11am on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1088 Thomas Lane, Columbus, Ohio 43220. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions maybe made to The American Cancer Society Ohio Division, 5555 Frantz Road, Dublin, Ohio 43017. Dear Uncle Lou,
You were the most kind, caring and genuine person. I cherish the memories I have with you, Aunt Betsy, Danny and David. Our deepest condolences go out to the entire Pompi family and our thoughts and prayers are with you all. You have gone on to a better place, but you will forever be remembered for all that you accomplished in this life.
