Luana "Lani" Cunningham, age 82, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2020. A celebration of her life will be held on February 12, 2020 at the Columbia Heights Methodist Church, 775 Galloway Rd., Galloway, OH 43119, from 3-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Kobacker House in Lani's memory. For full obituary please visit www.shaw-davis.com.

I first met Lani at Ohio Bell in 1967. I had just hired on as a long distance operator and got "bumped" to the evening hours. What an adjustment. I sat next to Lani and she was so friendly, caring and helpful. She made me feel at ease and we became friends. She was all about helping others. She was so proud of her family. I am sure that her children will miss her greatly. I transferred to another department and I never saw Lani again, however I never forgot her for the kindness that she showed me.

Oh I am going to miss you down the street! I am so lucky to have known you. You were always so concerned about everyone else! I love you for being so sweet when my husband died,,, such a big heart you had. A wonderful mother to your kids, my heart breaks for daughter who took such great care of you.... will think of you forever...

I am going to miss my "other mom" a lot. She used to introduce me to people by saying "And this is my OTHER son Greg!" because I spent almost my entire high school years camped-out somewhere in her house on California Ave. She was smart, caring, patient with all of us, and she had the best sense of humor of any of us. Thanks for putting-up with me all those years Lani. My world became a little less nice the moment I heard that you are no longer in it. You and Dave save me a spot on your couch--I will try and BMOB. Love ya forever. Greg
