Amundson, Luann
1955 - 2017
Luann "Louie" (Barnes) Amundson, 62, of Reynoldsburg, OH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 24, 2017 in her home after a 2 year battle with pancreatic cancer with her best friend and husband of 42 years, Robert, by her side. Louie was born on Valentine's Day, 1955, in Mankato, MN, to Duane and Arleen (Sheehan) Barnes. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1973 and continued her education at Mankato Vocational School for 2 years. Her wit, sweetness, humor and unselfish nature will be missed by many. She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Amundson; son, David (Lindsay) Amundson of Columbus, OH; father, Duane J. Barnes of Lake Washington, MN; twin sister, Linda (John) Friederichs of Lake Granbury, TX; sister, Laurie (Marty) Ferguson of Clearwater Lake, MN; two maternal nephews, Andy (Kate) Friederichs of Ft. Worth, TX, Mitchell McGuire of Alexandria, MN; one maternal niece, Erica Ferguson of St. Augusta, MN; and one aunt, Peggy Sheehan of Mankato, MN; as well as many loved cousins and paternal nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved niece Amy Lynn Friederichs, mother Arleen (Sheehan) Barnes and mother-in-law Ruth Amundson. Her family extends much gratitude to her physician, Dr. Jeanna Knoble with the Zangmeister Cancer Center, for guiding them through an arduous care schedule with great patience and care. They would also like to recognize the Mount Carmel East Hospice Care Angels (Brooke, James, Kimberly and Sarah) who showed great compassion and love during her last days. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Sunday, September 10 at The Rossi Bar + Kitchen, 895 North High Street, Columbus, OH, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

My deepest sympathy Bob and David. I've So many fun loving stories of Lu. I wouldn't know where to begin. I guess the first and for most is the love for family. She adored you all. Family came first. Bob I know you shared in many of our laughs. I would also like to share my condolences to sisters Linda,Laurie and her father Duane. Much fun started down by Sibley Park. One saying maybe Lu told Bob, "what should I wear tonight? my brown cords or my brown cords." God speed Lu keep every one laughing in heaven.

Love your good buddy Jeri

I will never forget you Louie!!! I will always treasure the time I had with you. You were sweet & eccentric ... it takes one to know one. As they say, you were one of a kind. (I really only met Linda twice that I can remember). Bob & David.... please remember that when the Lord calls our loved one home, he leaves a gift of memories in exchange. Memories are the legacy of LOVE.
Love always,
