Mark Owen Obituary

OWEN Mark E. Owen, age 62, of Lancaster, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Manor Care in Pleasantville. Born July 1, 1949 in Maumee, Ohio, he was a 1967 graduate of Copley High School in Akron, and was co-owner and operator of Wilmar Transport Co. He was a member of Faith Memorial Church in Lancaster. Survived by his wife of 31 years, Brenda Owen; children, Cassie Owen, Lancaster, Trevor (Jenny) Owen, Atlanta, GA, Alison Koehn, Worthington; grandchildren, Alexa and Jake Owen, Griffin and Bennett Koehn; mother, Elaine R. Owen, Canal Winchester; father- and mother-in-law, William E. and Harriet Voelkel, Columbus; brother- and sister-in-law, Bruce and Leanne Voelkel, Gahanna; nieces, Baillie and Amanda; nephews, David, Tyler and Scott. Preceded in death by son Joshua C. Owen and father Gene H. Owen. Friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Friday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, with Pastor Jonathan Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Lithopolis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute to Maywood Mission, 1025 S. Broad St., Lancaster, OH 43130 or Foundation Dinners, 1000 W. 5th Ave., Lancaster, OH 43130 in Mark's memory.
