Mary Zwick Obituary

ZWICK Mary Martha "Marty" Zwick, 80 of Plain City, OH died peacefully Saturday, March 19, 2005 at home after a brief illness. Marty was born February 28, 1925 in Plain City, OH and was the daughter of late Virgil and Freda (Fleck) Minthorn Sr. She graduated from Plain City High School in 1943. She married Lavern William Zwick on May 29, 1948, who preceded her in death July 23, 1985 and they both resided in Plain City their entire lives. Member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Dublin. Marty worked for the Ohio Exhibition Center (the Ohio State Fair) for 25 years, finishing her career as the Assistant Fair Manager prior to her retirement in 1985. She also worked at Gooding Amusement Company for four years in the 1970's. After retirement from the Ohio Exhibition Center, she was honored by the Ohio State Fair Hall of Fame. The Fair Board and her good friend Former Governor James Rhodes also honored her by naming the Dairy Products Building on the fair grounds the "Marty Zwick Building". Preceded in death by her parents and brother Virgil Minthorn, Jr. on October 13, 1974. Survived by her brother-in-law and his wife, Herman (Mary) Zwick of Summerfield, FL; her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Minthorn Schamaun of Plain City; her nephews and nieces, William (Linda) Zwick of Orrville, OH, Robert (Sandra) Zwick of Montgomery, TX, Barry (Sherry) Zwick of Ashland, OH, Blair (Minerva) Minthorn of Marysville, OH, Diana (Lance) Kirkman of Monticello, KY, Gay (Roger) Harper of Plain City; her great-nieces and nephews, Jared Zwick, Cory Zwick, Stacey Lauri Zwick, Justin Zwick, Brett Zwick, Dustin Minthorn, Andrew Minthorn, Jeffrey Gingerich and Jennifer Brickenridge, Jamie Brickenridge, Jill Kirkman, Tony Kirkman, Jeremy Corbin , Jerod Corbin, Mandy Clapham, Brittany Harper, Roger Harper; good friends, Elsie (Danny) Gingerich of Plain City. A Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at St John Lutheran Church, 6135 Rings Road, Dublin. The family will receive friends for calling hours at the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 202 E. Main Street, (St. Rte. 161W) Plain City, from 2-4 and 6-8 Tuesday, March 22, 2005 . Interment will follow the service at Forest Grove Cemetery, Plain City, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Loving Care Hospice, PO Box 445, London, OH 43140 or Madison County Humane Society, 1357 St. Rt. 38 SE, London, OH 43140. Thanks for many memories. I still remember the dogs. And how you helped to give the cat's milk and food when the snow is on the ground.





Remember when you moved from Converse-Huff Rd., you said you should take your corn cobs and put them in your back yard (my back yard)!
