Melissa Arnold Obituary

Arnold Melissa "Missy" Ann Rehl Arnold, age 48, of Marysville, died Thursday, April 18, 2013 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. A 1983 graduate of Grove City High School, she was the maintenance secretary for Marysville Exempted Village Schools for the past 12 years. Lovingly known as "Chaperone," she was adored by band students and wrestling athletes whom she supported and cheered on. She was a member of the Marysville High School band boosters and served as the group's assistant treasurer. She also served as treasurer for her son's boy scout troop, Troop 101, at Marysville First United Methodist Church. A loving mother and devoted wife, daughter and sister, she liked being outdoors and cherished family vacations, especially to Hilton Head. She enjoyed watching hockey, Cincinnati Reds baseball and loved animals. She will be most remembered for touching the hearts of those she met. She was born February 2, 1965 in Columbus, Ohio and was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Albert Rehl. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 27 years, Jeff S. Arnold, whom she married June 29, 1985 at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Columbus; her sons, Zach and Jacob; her parents, Robert and Dorothy Rehl of Grove City; three sisters, Amber (Douglas) Cline of Mt. Sterling, Lynn Reed of Grove City and Bobbie (Jim) Bentley of Coco Beach, FL; her father-and mother-in-law, Bill and Carol Arnold of Marysville; a niece, two nephews; many good friends and her faithful pet dog, "Sparky." Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Sunday, at UNDERWOOD FUNERAL HOME in Marysville, where funeral services will be held Monday evening at 6 p.m. Interment will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Oakdale Cemetery. Rev. Suzanne Dillahunt will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marysville High School Band Boosters. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.underwoodfuneralhome.com.
