Paul D. Devitt

Devitt Paul D. Devitt, age 49, taken from us suddenly on February 4, 2014 while living in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on August 8, 1964 in the city of Taunton; a suburb southeast of Boston, Massachusetts. The youngest child of the late George E. and Mary E. Devitt. He is survived by his wife, Wendy Worrell Devitt; and daughters, Shannon and Brigid Devitt as well as Katharine Joanne Helfond. Paul was the youngest of six children; his sister, Mary (Devitt) and her husband, Carmine DeFeo, Susan M. (Devitt) Arnold, Catherine P. Devitt and her late husband, Geoffrey E. Almeida; brother, Patrick J. Raggiani and his wife, Susan and brother, Richard L. Devitt and his wife, Christi. He was also loved by many nephews, nieces, and friends. Paul graduated from Marshfield High School, class of 1982 before joining the U.S. Marine Corps. Paul will be remembered for his affable nature and warm personality. He established several successful businesses while living in Ohio; Shamrock Cleaning service, the Big Kahuna (a sub shop) and a limousine and taxi service. When living in Salem, Massachusetts he worked for the Salem Evening News, a highly regarded daily newspaper. True to his industrious nature and his innate abilities as a business person; Paul never shied away from trying something new. He was a generous soul with a winning smile and an easy laugh. He had a talent for making friends. His family will be bringing Paul home in memory and in spirit with a celebratory Memorial Mass to be held at My Brother's Keeper in Massachusetts.
