To Brenda and Jim,
I was so sad to hear of Joe's passing. That guy was bigger than life to me in junior and senior high school. Some of my fondest memories are of Brenda and me walking all over the west side of Columbus in the summertime and ending up at the Boysel house with Rich and mom at the table and Joe and Jim playing ball all of the time!

Shelly,Brenda &Jim; My heart is sadden on hearing of the passing of Joe. Its been many years since I"ve seen all of you. But I do remember that Joe So Loved each of you so much... This is a testament to life being way too short. I heard so many stories about Joe. How he was such a great family man, stories went on and on about how he was a great athlete, How he made people smile wherever he went. Joe was not just a superior athlete and pretty-boy; he also had the special gift to help us feel extremely comfortable and brought out the best. In 9th grade, at Starling, I was tall and nerdy, but Joe took time to teach me stuff and tell stories and make me feel great like I belonged and he is so encouraging; and oh, he was funny as Hell, especially around Delbert Harlan & Steve Stropes & Jim Beck. Time passes and people move in and out of your life. That doesn't make their passing any less sad. I haven't seen Joe since high school, and I appreciated the email on his passing. I remembered with great fondness hot summer days, fall evenings and a number of fine Friday nights spent together. Those were just a tiny number of good times he probably enjoyed in life. As a kid I always looked forward to March 17th St. Patricks day. We would all get together and go to the parade and then to your house so everyone could be together and celebrate. It was always about tradition and family with you and I will always remember that. My two daughters love St. Patricks Day and it's all do to the good times we all had. I had the pleasure of going to school with him (and his siblings) at Central High School. He was very kind and gentlehearted, and treated everyone as if they were his best friend.
