Raymond Byas Obituary

BYAS Raymond Samuel Byas, 88, of Columbus, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012 at Mt. Carmel West. He was born February 14, 1924 in Huntington, WV, son of the late Henry and Emma White Byas. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his grandson Freddie Ray Adkins, daughter-in-law Anita Kay Byas and ten brothers and sisters. He served as the head pastor for over 40 years at 1799 Sale Rd. Church. Ray served in the Army during WWII. He is survived by his wife, Betty Roth Byas; children, Gary (Mickey) Byas, Vicky (Buck) McDowell, Danny Byas, Tommy (Linda) Byas, Terry (Larry) Bryant, Joey Byas and numerous grandchildren, great, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 9-10 a.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME NE CHAPEL, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus. Interment will be in Mifflin Twp. Cemetery. I could tell by the last family reunion that Great Uncle Ray was loved & respected by everyone he encountered,although he was aging & not moving as quickly, I could see he still had his sense of humor.
I'm sure the memories of the man loved by so many will always bring a smile as I'm sure he is looking down upon each of you & knowing he had been very blessed in life to have been loved by so many.
