Dick was a very special human being and even a more than that a great friend. You will be missed by all who knew and loved you. Your friend who hood-winked you into taking over my job as AFA President, Lee Horton

I was very sorry to learn of Dick's passing. I lost contact with him years ago but remember working for him at the Towne House restaurant when I was in high school. I was always fascinated by his stories and experiences of his work as a vet in Mexico to help eradicate hoof and mouth disease.

What a life this man has lived, will surely be missed by many.

When I became the Assistant vet in Charge of Ohio for USDA, Dick was one of our faithful and hard working veterinarians. He was a hard working and faithful employee and soon became a very good friend. When I went on to run Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands I called on Dick to come help eradicate screwworms and again he was an extremely hard worker. In the bird world, we continued our friendship and I watched him become the President of AFA, another position where he excelled. Didk will noy be forgotten.

I only knew Dick for the last 35 years or so of his very long life, but I never knew anyone as optimistic and filled with energy. I knew Dick and his friend Tim through their involvement in birds. Dick was an amazing friend to Aviculture and a true friend to many, and I am honored to have known him. My sincerest condolences all that loved him.
