Dear Marilyn and Family, I am so sorry to hear of Dick's passing. I worked at 3605 W. Broad St. McDonalds from 1967 to 1969 earning a "Red Hat". I then went into the plumbing business and you may remember me coming to your home on Blenheim Rd. and completing some plumbing repairs. I have always considered Dick a friend and mentor.

I am so sorry to read of Dick's death. I became acquainted with Dick and his daughters through the Grove City High School Athletic Boosters and Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce. We, Dee, Bev and I thought very highly of him. Emily Wildman

We always enjoyed seeing Dick and Marilyn at McDonald's meetings. He always had a smile for us and words of wisdom about the "McDonald's way of life"! We appreciated his guidance and friendship, and we will miss him. Our deepest sympathy to Marilyn and family.

I worked for Dick Halstead as a teenager back in the late 70's. Even as a high school kid, I KNEW he was someone very special. He treated all of us with kindness, and much of my work ethic 30 years later is due in part to working for him and being treated so well by him. I will always be grateful for knowing him at such a formative time in my life. He was an icon to so many young employees. To his family, I am sorry for your loss. Such a kind man, such a huge loss.

My condolences to the Halstead family. He was by far the best Employer I ever worked for. A very wonderful man who took the time to get to know everyones name that worked for him. I pray for Gods strength, grace and comfort for the family during this difficult time.

I was born in Beloit 57 years ago, and I have the privilege of claiming I have known Dick all of my life. And yet I have only one image of him, as someone who was kind, thoughtful, generous and considerate. Whenever he asked me how I was doing, I was certain he really wanted to know. He seemed to care more about others than about himself. He enriched all of our lives. To Marilyn and the kids, I wish you peace as you hold your own special memories close at hand.

My condolences to Marilyn and family. Dick was such a wonderful man. Doug and I thought the world of him and always considered him the perfect example of a "gentleman". I will miss him and wish your family peace in knowing what a great man he was. My prayers will be with him and the family during this difficult time.

I am so sorry for your loss and pray that God's strength will help you through this difficult time. I have always had fond memories of the days on Torrence Rd. and often think of the Halstead's as part of those memories. Be strong, my prayers are with you.
