Robert James Ullom. With gratitude to a man who made us feel capable of our dreams. Bob was strong, family focused, passionate, a storyteller, loyal, opinionated, political, patriotic, witty, a servant and volunteer, a child of God, son, brother, husband, father, uncle, in-law, cousin, friend, and beloved Pap. September 30, 1940 - August 30, 2017. Grew up in the Ohio Valley graduating from Bridgeport High School in 1958. Proud service to our country in the U.S. Army for ten years based in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, training at White Sands Missile Range in N.M., and as a Reservist. Shadyside, Ohio resident and supporter from 1967 through 2013 until moving to Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Retired from Ohio Edison with roles in maintenance, as a boiler operator, union steward, and passionate safety advocate. Member of Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church, Osiris Shrine, Jaycees, Masons, and American Legion. Passionate about God, Family, Wheeling Nailers Hockey, Pittsburgh Penguins, his grandson's University of Toledo Rockets, Joel Osteen's ministries and countless charities. One column doesn't do justice to what he's been in our lives and will be forevermore. Preceded in death by his parents Cyril and Esther (Ringer) Ullom, brothers Frederick Ullom and William Ullom. Survived by Beverly (Waide) Ullom (spouse of 54 years), daughters Dana Ullom-Vucelich (Powell, OH) and Deborah Mullin (Hilliard, OH), sons-in-law Sam Vucelich and Mark Mullin, sister Peg Mattern (Bridgeport, OH), and grandchildren Jenna Vucelich, Samuel Vucelich, Jordyn Mullin, and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. Services on September 30th with visitation with family at 2:00pm and a celebration of life service at 3:00pm at Wesley Ridge Retirement Community, Kimes Chapel, Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Donations may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital, Wesley Ridge Retirement Community, Ohio Living Foundation or Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church. God is our refuge and strength...
