Rose Haddow Obituary

Haddow, Rose Marie "Re"
Rose Marie (Re) Haddow has risen to be with our Lord on this day Saturday December 23, 2017. Rose resided in Columbus, Ohio all of her life. She was the daughter and only child of Julia and Herman Hanson who have gone before her and taught her lessons on humility, kindness and faith. Rose (Re) enjoyed Notre Dame Football, family, laughter, kitchen table conversations, grandchildren , thrift stores, card games (poker) with family, giving to the poor, fighting for the underdog, and listing and selling other peoples' homes (as her husband, Howard, did not wish to move). Speaking of homes, Re truly believed that her house should include as many people as possible. Being a mom of 7 it was acceptable to have others over for dinner; make cookies for the neighborhood kids, and allow her children to have some of their friends come along to the beaches of Florida or on other vacations and adventures. "There was always room for one more." We, as a family, will miss her. We will miss her message to, "Be kind, treat others with dignity, take care of the poor and less fortunate, stop and smell the roses, and "Fight like hell boys" type of attitude while watching Notre Dame Football. Rose leaves her loving and gracious husband, Howard, after being married for over 59 years; children Jeanne (Chuck) Booth, Tim, Mike (Jennifer), John (Wendy), Dan (Laurie), Tom (Jamie), Julie (Dan) Greiner; grandchildren Berry, Dylan, Katie, Kyle, Kelly, Chris, Alle, Meghan, Mary, Sam, Caroline, Charlie, Rosie and Heidi; niece and nephews. Preceded in death by daughter Mary Ann. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday 11:00 a.m. Dec. 28, 2017 at St. Andrew Church, 1899 McCoy Rd. where friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Private burial at Resurrection Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by Egan-Ryan Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 4661 Kenny Rd. The family asks that in lieu of flowers those who wish make donations in Re's name to the American Diabetes Association or Ohio Health Hospice, and to continue to pray that the house of our Lord will always include one more room that looks like a kitchen so we can all enjoy a kitchen table conversation filled with laughter and love and just "one more" bite of cake and/or poker game where winner shares with all. The family would like to give special thanks to Re's nephew Dr. Philip Santa Emma for his support. Visit www.egan-ryan.com for condolences.

Dear Howard and family,
I was so sorry to hear about Re Re. She was always a delight to be around. I miss the Christmas gatherings we used to have Barb & Rod's every year when we all could be together.

Thought you might like to see this photo of took last summer at mom's celebration of life party.

Hope you find peace in the new year.
