Sally Foreman Obituary

FOREMAN Sally Foreman. A bright light was extinguished from our lives with the death of "Sally" Sara Jane (Elliott) Foreman at home on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, after a courageous and dignified battle with cancer. Sally was born in Columbus, Ohio, on April 25, 1950, to Jack and Laura Elliott. She graduated from West Jefferson (Ohio) High School and attended Ohio University. In 1969, she married the love of her life, Bob Foreman. Over the years, Sally happily moved the family and household to Decatur, IL; Laurel, MD; and Roswell, GA, as Bob's career advanced. In 2000, Bob and Sally made Lake Keowee, outside Salem, SC, their home and have been active in the Keowee Key community and developed many close friendships. Sally enjoyed golf, bridge, travel, cooking, entertaining, and her volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity; but her greatest joy was her family, which she kept closely knit despite being separated geographically. Sally was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law Carl Foreman. She is survived by her husband, Bob; son, Carl Jeffrey (Cristal Lazell) of Kansas City, MO; daughter, Jennifer (Randy) Seabrook of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Caitlin and R.J. Foreman and Grier and Elli Seabrook; brothers, Dick Elliott and wife, Peggy and Jim Elliott and partner, John Behal; mother-in-law, Violet Bivens and husband, George; brother-in-law, Steve (Linda) Foreman; and sister-in-law, Karla Phelps. Also surviving are several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews, and many dear and supportive friends. A memorial service will be conducted at the Walhalla Civic Auditorium, 101 East North Broad Street, Walhalla, SC, on Friday, July 23, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. with a reception to follow at The Club at Keowee Key. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sally's memory to the Susan Cohan Kasdas Colon Cancer Foundation (www.coloncancerfoundation.org/donations.htm) or OMC Hospice of the Foothills, attention: Foundation Office, 298 Memorial Drive, Seneca, SC, 29672. Sally will be missed by all who knew her and kept alive in the hearts of all who loved her. We are so sorry Bob that you have lost your Lovely Sally. I am so glad we all had that long weekend together when you were home a few years ago. She was your Princess and we all knew that! I guess the best thing to say is " What a Wonderful Life!

We were saddened to learn of Sally's death. We briefly lived across the road from each other on Starboard Tack before the Foremans moved to their new home. Worked with Sally on the Social Committee at The Club in Keowee Key and always enjoyed being with her. We sincerely extend our deepest sympathies to Bob and family over their loss and will keep all in prayer.

I grew up in WJ and Sally was a few years older than I. I remember her wonderful smile! And of course thought she was the best majorette ever. Years later I became friends with Jane Romeo so I knew Jim Elliott. Of course I remember he was the drum major too. They grew up in a house on Taylor Blair, I grew up on Haymarket St. So of course our paths crossed on many levels. Although I hadn't seen Sally for many years I always have good memories of her. God bless you all and heal your hearts.

Sally was a blessing to our family. I am sure Sally is in heaven with Jeannie. "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God"
Matthew 5:8 Rob, may God be with you as you continue your journey. My prayers are with you and the rest of the family. Give yourself a hug from me. I love and miss you.
