Terry Kramer Obituary

Kramer Terry Kramer, 67, of Delaware, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at his residence. He was born on January 30, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Thomas E. and Margaret (DeWeese) Kramer. In addition to hls parents, Terry was preceded in death by his brother Thomas D. He was a graduate of Miami University where he received his undergraduate and Master degrees in Geology. Terry pursued his doctoral studies at Tulane University. He was installed as an officer of the New Orleans Geological Society in 1977. After years in the industry, Terry established and presided over Kramer Exploration, a natural gas company. Terry committed his personal and financial resources to serving others in the Delaware community. He was a long standing board member, vice president and chairman of the Delaware County Bank Financial Corporation. Terry has been an active member of the First Presbyterian Church where he has provided leadership, mentorship and silent contributions to those in need. After 19 years of volunteer service, he was inducted into the Delaware Hayes Hall of Fame. He was chosen as the Delaware Area Chamber of Commerce "Citizen of the Year" in 2005. A core area of service for Terry was in his volunteerism for the Grady Memorial Hospital Hospice Center. He founded one of the center's major fund-raisers, the Hospice Golf Outing. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sandy Kramer; brother, Robert Kramer; daughters, Clare (Brian) Keathley and Callie Kramer; granddaughters, Gavin and River Keathley; and grandsons, Hart and Sky Keathley. His love and dedication to his family, friends, and community were at the center of his existence. Those that he touched will miss his generosity, humble manner, strong work ethic and sense of humor. Today we are still feeling the tremendous loss of our dear, dear friend and part of our extended family. Terry Kramer was a "one of a kind". He was intelligent, educated,
successful, a trusted leader, a mentor, a caregiver and on and on....yet he was still able to enjoy all the smaller things in life with gusto. We laughed together, we cried together, we celebrated a wedding together, we loved the same children, we loved the same grandchildren, we shared Princess breakfasts, Disneyland, Disney on Ice shows, births, birthdays, holidays, and vacations. No matter the event, he always made it something to look forward to. We love you, Terry, and we'll miss you, our friend. Those chocolate chip cookies will never taste quite the same again!

Dear Sandy, as only you know, Terry and I became Best Pals in the seventh grade in Sidney. Terry had just move from Kansas City and I from Milwaukee. He has left us with a treasure of wonderful and best memories. I feel like I just lost a brother. I was so happy for Terry when he met you and fell head over hills in love with you, the love of his life. I had never seen him happier ! We ( you, Terry and I ) did and share a lot of wonderful times together; great memories are our blessing in the painful time. I know that TK is looking down on you and his daughters and grandchildren and smiling. I am grateful that I had Terry in my life: he made me a better person, Love and Heart Felt Sympathy , Lou Dondero

Sandy, Callie and family. I just learned tonight about Terry. I was his spinning instructor at Kinsale. He was always talking about his family when he was spinning. I enjoyed having him when it was too cold or rainy to golf. In all my 25 years of teaching fitness he was likely the most upbeat positive kindest student I have ever had the privilege to have in class. I thought the world of him and I can't express how deeply sorry I am for your loss.
