William Dodley Obituary

DODLEY William Dodley, age 89, of Columbus, Ohio, died in Christ, Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Lutheran Village. He was the son of the late Blossie and Susue Dodley, born December 1, 1916 in Dawson, Georgia. They moved to Columbus when William was an infant. A retiree of the Timken Roller Bearing Company, he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years Stella, daughter Helena Maskin, brothers Louis, Rufus, and Gilbert Dodley, and grandson Jeffrey Dodley. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Aleta Blake, Monnett Spikes, both of Columbus, and Merle Dodley of Palmdale, California; one brother, Lawrence (Elise) Dodley; two sisters, Ruth Dodley Smith and Alta Jean Dodley; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral service 12Noon, Friday, June 9, 2006 at Union Grove Baptist Church, 266 N. Champion Avenue. Pastor Henry L. Johnson III, officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estate. Arrangements entrusted to DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long Street.
