To the Gibson Family, We are grieving with you as we heard of Bill's passing. He was such a great friend to both of us in high school, as we shared the passion for percussion and bands. Of course we remember him as "Henry," the name which we gave him so that we wouldn't end up speaking with Bill Sr. when we called the house. We also remember his brilliance in remembering every song that ever was played (with the writer, performer and year) and the many great times at band camp. We will be praying for you all, especially for Jill and his boys. Our parents also send their sympathy.

My sincere condolences go out to the Gibson family,
Earlier this week I was shocked to hear about the passing of Bill Gibson, my high school band director. Recently I have found myself, reminiscing about the years spent as a student in Bill’s music program. It’s funny that while you’re young, someone’s impact on your life can be so subtle as not to recognize its importance. In the end, it would be hard to imagine myself as a musician today, without Bill Gibson’s influence. ‘Gib’, as we all warmly referred to him, always showed genuine interest and concern in your development as a student. He truly loved music and it was his unquestioning drive and integrity that certainly had an affect on my decision to lead an artistic lifestyle. As a teacher, Bill helped you to grow and learn while still allowing you to be yourself, a hard trait to find among some educators today. His passing brings the end of an era – Thank you Bill for everything.

Bill was very special to us. Not only was he a mentor, friend, and colleague of our son's, he also was a good friend to us and an important part of our dixieland band. When Bill played with us, we always sounded better.
Bill was a superb musician and an inspired teacher. He touched so many lives, and will live on in the many wonderful memories we all have.
To all the family, especially Jill, Michael, & Peter, thank you for sharing him with us all these years. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

To The Gibson Family…..
I am very sorry for your loss. Mr. Gibson was a very great teacher and a friend to many. His heart was filled with gold and his spirit lit the darkest room. His concerts were always so fabulous and inspiring. When you went into the auditorium for the Holiday Concert, you could only expect the best and nothing less than that. Mr. Gibson will be dearly missed but his soul will always be in the music that he so passionately loved. You and your family are in our hearts in prayers.

To Bill and his family;
Bill was my high school and college percussion teacher and was a tremendous influence on my career. I am now a band director and carry so many of the things he taught me not only about percussion, but about what it means to teach. He was always so excited about music! That's what I will remember about him. My thoughts are with his family, especially Jill and the boys.

Mr. Gibson:
You will never know how much you inspired my musical talents. I was lucky enough to have one of the most phenomenal music teachers I could ever have teach me the gift of song through the flute and vocals. You will forever be missed, however, you will live on through each and every soul you touched with the magic of music. I hope you are in a better place now and I pray for your family you had to leave behind. Thank you for everything. Love Sarah

To the Gibson family...
There aren't enough words to express my sympathy to each and every one of you at Bill's passing.
To his family he was certainly a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle.
To his students, he was certainly an inspiration -- pushing them to find their place in life.
To people like me, he was a good friend with a nickname of "B" -- a name given to him while we were students at Ohio University.
"B" had drive. "B" had talent. "B" never gave up. But, most importantly, "B" lived live with gusto, love and humor.
"B" -- we'll all miss you.

To the Gibson Family,
I was a student of Bill's in Conway during the early 80's. He had a tremendous positive impact on me and I will never forget him. I have been teaching music now for twenty years and I carry many of the lessons he taught me to this day. He was a tremendous human being and I will always keep him in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
God Bless You,
Ernie Mills

Mr. & Mrs. Gibson,
Your son was an inspiration to so many people. He is held dearly in the hearts of many students and parents in NH. Bill was an amazing teacher, mentor and friend to our daughter, Katie. That influence led her to pursue a degree in Music Education. She told us, "I want to be a High School Music teacher like Mr. Gibson." Katie loved him so much that she painted a portrait of him; I hope you get to see it someday. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family during this time. Please know that the community will be there for Jill and the boys. We can't take Bill's place, but we can share his love.

Bill was one of my best friends from high school and Camp Willson. We shared many good times working those summers together. He was a member of our wedding party over 30 years ago. The last time we spoke was our 25th wedding anniversary. We are saddened to hear of his passing and would like to express our sympathy to the entire Gibson Family. Our thoughts and prayers for comfort are with all of you.

My thoughts and prayers to your family. I went to High School and OU with Bill, in fact we had the exact same birthday :) He was a great guy.
