1939 - 2014

FALKNER – Teddy Gaston Dickerson, 75, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at his home. Teddy was born in Tippah County to the late William John Dickerson and Warda Covey Dickerson on October 23, 1939. Teddy was a retired truck driver. He drove for more than 40 years. He enjoyed playing golf and watching Ole Miss football. In his later years he became a Christian and was a member of the Tiplersville Church of Christ.
Teddy and his surviving wife, Sadella Gitter Dickerson, were married on November 22, 1958; they were married 55 years.
Teddy is survived by his wife; two daughters, Lisa Dickerson Lucas and her husband, Jim, and Jennifer Dickerson Lee and her husband, Todd; his four grandchildren, Caleb and Matthew Lucas and Lauren and Allison Lee; his nieces and nephews; and the rest of his relatives and friends.
Teddy was preceded in death by his parents, William John Dickerson and Warda Covey Dickerson; as well as his sister, Glenda Hopper, and brother, Elton Dickerson.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at McBride Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Rodney Hilliard of Marlow Church of Christ will be officiating.
Visitation will be held at 5 to 8 p.m. today, October 31, 2014, at McBride Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral at Falkner Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by McBride Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Lucas, Matthew Lucas, Todd Lee, Jim Lucas, Michael Hopper, David Gitter. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Bates, Sonny Lockhart, Joe Brown, Randle Miskelly, Perry Johnson, Bobby Gitter.
The family of Teddy Dickerson wishes to thank his caregivers Union Hospice Care and Frances Rogers. But a very special thanks for Jacob and Olivia Bates for the countless love shown to our family.
