William Brand Obituary

William Brand, Jr., 64, passed away from this earth on Thursday, August 22, 2024 and met his Savior face to face. He was born on February 15, 1960 in West Point, MS to the late William Louis Brand, Sr. and Ruby Lee Simms Brand.

William grew up in a big family with three brothers in Monroe County and he graduated from Aberdeen High School in Aberdeen, MS. He was a hardworking man who had an incredible work ethic. He served the public through his job as he was butcher for many years. He worked at Aberdeen Big Star, Food Giant, Piggly Wiggly and Cash Savers. He was a humble gentle man who was quiet and always ensured that the job was done right while supporting those around him.

He loved the Lord and was an amazing husband and father. William was a member of the Verona Pentecostal Church in Verona and he loved southern gospel music as well as other praise and worship music. God blessed him with a kind Christian wife, Sandra Brand, and four children and it was quickly apparent, to all that met him, that God and his family meant the world to him. In addition to his wife, and children, he was close to his three brothers and they made many great memories.

In his downtime, he enjoyed watching football, especially cheering on Ole Miss as he was an avid Ole Miss fan. Some of the shows he enjoyed watching were the Homicide Hunter: Lt. Joe Kenda as well as good ole westerns primarily Gunsmoke. He had a Honda Shadow motorcycle and he loved to get out on the open road and just soak up the surroundings.

His work was rewarding as he helped feed the community around him and his Servant heart touched many lives through the years. William will be missed so much by his wife, children and siblings yet they know he is at peace, in the Lord's presence. Until we meet again.

Left behind to treasure the memories are his wife, Sandra Brand, Okolona; daughters, Sherri Brand, Carolina Community, Amanda Thrasher (Jacob), Booneville; son, William Lewis Brand II, Okolona; grandchildren, Brianna Tine, Gabriel Patterson, Liam Thrasher, Letty Thrasher and Claire Kinas; great-grandson, Valen Tine; brothers, Howard Allen (Joyce), Aberdeen, Kevin Dean Brand, Aberdeen, and Roger Dale Brand (DiAnna), North Carolina; step children, Eric Coplin, Crystal Oliver, Kevin Coplin; host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharmin Patterson and a grandson, Jacob Patterson.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at 12:00 pm at the Verona Pentecostal Church in Verona with Bro. John McAlister, Bro. Terry Harden and Bro. Jason Jaggers officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Aberdeen, Mississippi.

Visitation for family and friends will be at the church from 10:00 am until the service hour at the church.
