LINDA KAUFMAN DODGE CITY-Linda Marie (Fagan) Kaufman, 78, died Friday, October 27, 2023 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains in Dodge City, Kansas. She was born June 25, 1945 in Quinter, Kansas, the daughter of Leroy and Mabel Fagan. She grew up near and in Gove, Kansas, graduated from Gove High School in 1963, and went on to attend Salina Beauty Academy. She worked at Valo's Beauty Shop as a colorist and stylist in Dodge City. She married Merle Kaufman February 19, 1966 in Dodge City. Together they raised 5 children. Linda was very artistic and creative. She enjoyed floral arranging, ceramics, pottery, arts & crafts, and was a talented seamstress. She worked as a school bus driver for USD 443 a total of eleven years. She also drove the Trolley for the Dodge City Historic Trolley Tours. Survivors include: her husband of 57 years, Merle; her children, Tim and wife Tanya Kaufman, Lady Lake, Florida, Steve and wife Jan Kaufman, Azle, Texas, Susie and husband Steven Bowen, Wichita, Kansas, Jennifer and husband Jeremy Thorpe, Andale, Kansas, Mark and wife Kacie Kaufman, Lenexa, Kansas; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Raymond Fagan, Oakley, Kansas, Ronald Fagan, San Antonio, Texas, and Kelly Fagan and wife Carol, Wagoner, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters-in-law, Cecilia Fagan and Mary Fagan. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 11:00 am at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Dodge City, with David Johnson officiating. Burial will be Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Gove County Cemetery, Gove, at 3:30 pm. Visitation will be Thursday from Noon to 7:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. The casket will remain closed. The family suggest memorials to Christ the King Lutheran Church or Hospice of the Prairie, both in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
