Annie Carroll Obituary

Mrs. Annie Ruth Carroll, a beloved wife and mother, of New Brockton, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2005, at University Hospital Birmingham following a brief illness. She was 72.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at Bethany Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Medley officiating. The body will lie in the church one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in the New Brockton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home tonight from 6 to 8.

Mrs. Carroll was born March 8, 1933, in Coffee County to the late J.D. and Camilla Cassady Tate. She was co-owner and operator of Donna's Nursery for a number of years and was a longtime member of Bethany Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles O. Barnes.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Harrell Carroll of New Brockton; one daughter, Donna Odom (Terry) of Dothan; two sons, Phillip Michael Carroll (Shelly) of New Brockton and Gergory N. Carroll (Debra Sue) of New Brockton; four sisters, Elizabeth Levan of Bradenton, Fla., Mildred White of New Brockton, Evelyn Rogers of Bradenton, Fla., and Betty Jane deGruchy of Bend, Ore.; seven grandchildren, Weston Odom, Micheal Carroll, Jay Mack Danford, Rachel Stricklin, Heather Carroll, Ashlyn Odom and Kristy Odom; and several nieces and nephews.

Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home, (334) 347-9598, is in charge of the arrangements.
