Kathy Hughes Obituary
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at Mount Gilead Baptist Church with brother Bob Ledlow and the Rev. Larry Newton officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday. At all other times the family will be at the home of Myrtice Quattlebaum, 3573 County Road 68, Dothan, AL. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing.
Mrs. Hughes was born Aug. 25, 1956, in Hartford. She lived the early years of her life in Geneva County. Mrs. Hughes was employed with the Dothan Post Office as a rural route carrier for 15 years prior to her medical retirement in 1998. She resided in Dothan most of her life before moving to Jupiter, Fla., in October 2007.
Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her father, Shelly Quattlebaum, and her brothers, James Quattlebaum, Donnie Quattlebaum and Billy Quattlebaum.
Survivors include her husband, Jesse Hughes, Jupiter, Fla.; three daughters, Jessica Watson and her husband, Chris, Rehobeth, Rene Bacot and her husband, Hank, Tuscaloosa, and Kasie Hughes; two grandchildren, Claire and Cate Watson, Rehobeth; her mother, Myrtice Quattlebaum, Dothan; her mother-in-law, Patty Hughes Gilmore, Dothan; a sister, Sharon Johnston and her husband, Van, Dothan; three brothers, Thomas Quattlebaum and his wife, Joann, Robert Quattlebaum and his wife, Sarah, and Roger Quattlebaum and his wife, Jackie, all of Dothan; sisters-in-law, Jan Gardner and her husband, Wayne, Jeanette Quattlebaum and Lorraine Quattlebaum, all of Dothan; brothers-in-law, Kim Hughes and his wife, Janet, and John Hughes and his wife, Kimberly, Dothan; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews also survive.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Thomas Quattlebaum, Robert Quattlebaum, Roger Quattlebaum, Kim Hughes, John Hughes and Van Johnston.
