Minnie Moore Obituary

Mrs. Minnie L. Moore of the Florala Nursing Home and Rehabiliation Center and formerly of Chancellor died Saturday, May 20, 2006, in Florala Memorial Hospital. She was 93. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today in Elbethel Baptist Church with the Revs. Billie Joe Williams and Keith Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.

Mrs. Moore was born March 13, 1913, in Geneva County to the late George M. and Mattie Fields Howell. She was a homemaker and a seamstress. She was a lifelong resident of Chancellor and had been a member of Elbethel Baptist Church for 70 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Moore Sr. and two sons, Donald Eugene Moore and Roy Moore Jr.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and LaDeema Moore of Chancellor; one brother, Woodrow Howell of Chancellor; six granddaughters, Donna Wilson of Cottonwood, Darla Chapman of Cottonwood, Janet Moore of Milton, Fla., Teresa Hunter of Duncanville, Leigh Davidi of Peachtree City, Ga., and Jill Taylor of Seale; three grandsons, Ronald Michael Moore of Ozark, Marcus Craig Moore of Charlottesville, Ga., and Kevin Moore of Samson; nine great-grandchildren.
